Homework makes students stressful and distracts them from their studies. Studies have shown that less stress improves grades and homework is unneeded pressure.
Finland was ranked the 6th best education system in the world in 2015, and the best in Europe. The achieve this by not stressing out students by having 4 days of school and no homework. If the UK could follow this example of no homework, students and teachers wouldn't have nearly as much stress and student grades would improve, as students already have enough stress with exams.
