Petition Make changes to the child maintenance service
make it a legal requirement that the paying parent must sign on unemployment benefits within 5 working days if claiming to be unemployed or supported by family. The law needs to change so parents cannot avoid paying child support. They should not be able to avoid child support
More details
It is far too easy for the paying parent to avoid paying child support. If the parent states they are being supported by family then the family should be responsible for paying the child support. If stating unemployed they should be forced to sign on and actively looking for work.
