We, the undersigned demand you stop the proposed closure of the A & E Department at Fairfield General Hospital, Bury, Gt Manchester.
This already overworked A & E serves a population of over 355,000 people from the home town of Bury and the surrounding towns of Heywood, Rochdale & Rossendale.

The nearest A & E’s to these towns if Fairfield closes are Oldham ( approx 12 miles from most homes, Blackburn, 11 miles from Rossendale and North Manchester General, 10 miles) all of which are completely overstretched due to cutbacks in surrounding areas and virtually inaccessible to anyone without a car.
