Petition Spend the £50 Billion assigned to HS2 on the NHS and Education instead.

I would think the money would have a better long term impact if spent on the NHS and Education rather than saving 20 minutes on a train journey.

This would reverse the plans to close down regional hospitals which would benefit local economies. While the investment in education would benefit the country as a whole.
