Petition Allow Breastfeeding mothers to take children into hospital if admitted
Breastfeeding is often the only source of food a baby will have. Some mothers cannot express and exclusively breastfed babies may not take to a bottle. If a mother who BF had to be admitted to hospital the risk of baby dehydrating is high but also a mothers milk could "dry up" causing distress.
More details
For a mother to be admitted onto a maternity ward with a baby the cut off point is 8 weeks post partum.
