Community First Responders are members of the public, trained by the Ambulance Service Trusts, who volunteer their time to respond to 999 calls on behalf of Ambulance Service Trusts throughout the UK. They provide medical and life saving help to patients in emergency situations.

That First Responders are formally recognised and known as “Ambulance First Responders” by all Ambulance Service Trusts.
That all First Responders are permitted to bear the title “Ambulance First Responder” on their uniforms and response vehicles.
That all First Responders are permitted to wear uniforms in the same green colours of Ambulance Services Trust personnel while responding.
Training is reviewed and standardised across the all Ambulance Services Trusts in the UK.
