Rejected petition Stop housing/ind development on green space at Ridgeway next to Southglade Sch

Most of the green space has been lined up for development in the local area. With more and more housing being built there is little green space left for people to enjoy. Dog walkers, children playing, football teams of all ages training and general open air use is being taken away.

More details

There are other developments in the area that have taken years to sell and some are still empty and left in disrepair. We have spoken to all departments and if not ignored completely have been told that there is nothing happening. Even when site surveyors have been out on numerous occasions doing ground work! After speaking to workers in the school they have confirmed that the ground is to be developed. This appears that the whole situation is being kept quiet as to stop any opposition.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Local planning issues are the responsibility of your local council.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor, who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

https://www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors

Once an application is made for the development to take place, all local residents have the right to request that a planning application be ‘called in’ by the Department for Communities and Local Government. This means that it will assess the planning application against certain criteria and decide if a full inquiry is needed. For more information, including the criteria and how to request the call in of a planning application, see:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
