Government should ban overtaking by lorries on dual carriageway roads, known as 'elephant racing' to motorists, during rush hour times.

As an example lorries are not allowed to use the outside lanes during the hours of 7.30 - 9.30am and 4.30 - 6.30pm, unless exceptional circumstances.

The Highways Agency itself reports traffic flows 17% quicker through this policy.
