Rejected petition Defer Article 50 invocation whilst Election expenses fraud is unresolved

In light of the recent £70,000 fine handed down by the Electoral Commission, and the possibility of the Conservative majority being eliminated through results being voided, the basis of any claimed mandate to invoke Article 50 is highly dubious so any decision to invoke Article 50 needs deferring.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The Prime Minister has already written to European Council President Donald Tusk to notify him of the UK’s intention to leave the EU, so it is not possible for the Government to take this action.
