Petition Make car ownership fairer by introducing a pay-per-mile car tax
The Government charges drivers a fixed amount of car tax no matter how much they use their cars. We urge Transport Secretary Chris Grayling to adopt a fairer Vehicle Excise Duty by charging motorists based on miles driven. Car tax can be paid during an MOT, with bills calculated from actual mileage.
