Rejected petition Have IPSA investigate work of members of the Lords who claim daily allowance.

Baroness D'Souza was carrying out an investigation of the work done by members of the House of Lords who claim the daily allowance (£300). She stopped the probe fearing a "media storm" over how little was actually being done.

IPSA should complete the inquiry and publish the findings.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.

You can find out how to contact IPSA here:

http://parliamentarystandards.org.uk/About%20Us/Pages/Contact-Us.aspx

If you would like Parliament to change the law, to make IPSA responsible for allowances for Members of the House of Lords, you could start a new petition asking for that.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
