Important:

This petition was submitted during the 2015-2017 parliament

Rejected petition Ensure the Poppy is only used as a symbol to mark respect.

The poppy should be used to show respect for those who have fallen, it should not have any political statement or party attached to it.
I believe that using the poppy as a symbol should be outlawed if not used on Armistice Day or to raise money for the poppy appeal.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

The Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the poppy. The Royal British Legion's 2-petal poppy is already a registered trademark. You can find out more on the website of the Royal British Legion:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
