Rejected petition Give more severe sentences for animal cruelty

The perpetrators of animal cruelty cases do not receive sentences that properly reflect the often appalling and abhorrent cruelty that they have subjected the animals to. Current sentencing is neither a punishment nor a deterrent and must be changed.
