Rejected petition Increase maximum sentences for animal cruelty

The current maximum custodial sentence for the worst cases of animal cruelty in England and Wales is 6 months. This is out of step from the rest of the U.K. and many other European countries. As a nation of animal lovers we should be taking animal cruelty more seriously.
