Government to fund new power generation plants ('renewable', 'fossil-fuel' and 'nuclear') using tax-payer's money. Government to run these on tax-payer's behalf and in competition with current energy providers. Consumers to be invited to 'sign-up'. Consumers to be billed at as low a price (i.e. as near to generation cost) as possible. Any profits to be re-invested in new power generation/energy-saving schemes.
