Rejected petition Stop invoking Article 50 if this petition has 18M signatures by 29 March 2017
Dear Fellow British Citizens,
We have been told that a majority of the electorate voted for Brexit. In truth, just over a third (37.44%) voted to leave and many now regret it. 12.9 million of you didn't vote at all!
Stand up now and be heard. Sign this petition to demonstrate your will!
More details
Here's the facts.
Just over 46.5 million people were registered to vote but 12.9 million people chose not to. I believe it's morally wrong to disregard those who didn't vote as they form a considerable proportion of the Great British public (27.8% of us in fact).
By including the non-voters we get a very different result in which only 37.44% voted to leave. The rest of us, 62.56%, voted to remain or keep things as they are.
Make the Government hear your will now. Will you stay?
This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
The Prime Minister has already written to European Council President Donald Tusk to notify him of the UK’s intention to leave the EU, so it is not possible for the Government to take this action.
