Installing Smart Meters will spell the end for Meter Readers and their Support staff. Just one of the big six energy companies employs in excess of 900 people directly involved in Meter Reading times this by six companies,plus support staff and their families you do the maths. In this tough economic climate can our country really afford these mass numbers joining the dole queue? Bear in mind a large percentage of these people will never find any kind of employment again. WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS? Not the consumer, not the taxpayer, not the Government just the energy companies and their shareholders.The Government must rethink this policy for ALL our sakes
