Petition Lower voting age in the North of Ireland from 18 to 16.
We, as young people, demand that the British Government allow people over the age of 16 in the North of Ireland to exercise their right to vote in elections.
More details
MLAs in the Assembly endorsed a joint Sinn Féin and Green Party motion in 2012 backing the lowering of the voting age from 18 to 16.
This process will allow young people to fully engage with local politics and also their local communities. It's vital that young people have a voice in deciding the course of their future.
