Petition Allow 1-week of holiday during school term to make holidays affordable

As the cost of holidays at least double during school breaks many families can't afford to take their children to the sunny beach. Parents are penalised and sometimes even prosecuted for taking their kids to holidays during the school term. This makes schools look like a modern prison for children.

I suggest allowing parents to take 1-week of holiday a year during school term on their discretion. By allowing this "sick absence" rate would definitely go down and many families could travel on a budget.
