Petition Prevent HMRC stopping the tax free night out allowance for HGV drivers

Currently HGV a driver spending a night out in a sleeper cab can claim up to £26.20 per night, tax free expenses (paid by their employer). This is set to change in April to require receipts for any claim made.

As we know its not always possible to get receipts from mobile catering outlets, vending machines, showers etc..
The RHA are helping to fight this ill-judged red tape but we need all HGV drivers to support this to get it to be debated in parliament. Meanwhile feel free to write to your MP or directly write to Jane Ellison, Financial Secretary to the Treasury, 1 Horse Guards RD, Westminster, London SW1A 2HQ
