Petition Government to protect greenbelt from development until all other land is used.

Sajid Javid the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government to stop any greenbelt to be re-designated for building until land held by development companies is built on.

More details

The local government association identified 200,000 plots of land that were "ready or nearly ready" for development in 2014, reported to have risen to 600,000 in 2016. Councils gave planning permission to 250,000 homes, only 140,000 homes were built. It would be prudent for the the secretary of state to refuse to allow plans, including borough plans, that involve greenbelt, until all other avenues are explored and any problems or obstacles to construction on alternative banked land are resolved.
