Rejected petition Make it the law to stop and help an injured cat if you hit it with your vehicle

Cats are family members too just like dogs so why is it not a legal requirement to stop if you hit one? It is very distressing to witness yet happening on a daily basis. Please help to make this the law and drivers will take more care.
