Rejected petition Make council tax payable on PAYE

We ask the government to recognise that one of it's duties is to ensure that tax is collected in a simple, cost effective and non-intrusive manner.

We therefore request that the Government make payment of council tax part of the PAYE scheme for employed persons at the earliest opportunity, certainly prior to the next round of council tax in 2012. This would reduce non-payment, reduce the onus on the public, reduce the pressure on the courts time and reduce the number of British Citizens issued with CCJs.
