Rejected petition Capital Punishment to be reinstated

I believe that bringing back capital punishment in a simular way to the US (ie: lethal injection) would have a profound effect on crime levels in the UK, i believe we would see a downturn on the number of people carrying knives/guns on the streets, the number of murders occuring and the number of rapes happening up and down the country, the death penalty would ring across the criminal world and deter thousands from a life of crime, at the present time all criminals have to worry about is spending life sat in a UK prison playing on an xbox with there friends who are already in there. Things need to change.
