The Government should look urgently at upgrading the single carriageway sections of the A1 between Newcastle and Edinburgh.These sections of the main highway betwen two major cities are dangerous! Ask any driver who has had a vehicle coming at them head on or has risked an accident by overtaking a tractor.Or better still,just look at number of fatalities that have occurred over the years.Improvements would also provide jobs and boost the economy of North East England.
