Three girls were raped. When the case went to Crown Court, the rapist offered to plead guilty saying that he used his fingers and not his private part. The girls rejected the plea and, to the horror of all 13 witnesses, he was found not guilty. The jury should have known he offered a guilty plea.
In future, when a defendant makes a plea in a case of sexual violence, the jury should be told
