Closed petition Impose legal regulations on the use of digitally altered images in the media.

Closed on

This use of digitally altered images of persons in all broadcast & non-broadcast media should be more heavily regulated.

The only alterations to be permissible under law are elements that are temporary in nature (for example a blemish/bruise etc) and such alterations should be disclosed.

Any alterations that modify the size and proportion of a model should be prohibited.

This is to ensure that a model's physical appearance is not artificially manipulated, including their weight, shape and size.

If such acts are carried out, the offending party should be awarded
with a large fine.

Photoshop should be used in a sophisticated manner, and images promoted to the public should encourage a realistic and healthy body image.
