Petition Let councils borrow to build council housing. Lift the government cap.

Private tenancies are insecure, expensive and many fail to meet basic standards.
So called "affordable housing" at 80% of market rents is not genuinely affordable. A programme of council house building will help address the housing crisis, and council housing pays for itself in the long run.
