Single use plastics are pollutants that are not only affecting our marine life and environment but also our own health. Plastic drinking straws are an example of human wastefulness and are completely unnecessary. They have a life span of 20 minutes but then take over 200 years to 'decompose'

We produce over 300 million tons of plastic a year, over half of which is single use plastics.

'Plastic straws are one of the 'Top 10' items found during marine and beach clear ups' (Greenpeace).
