In recognition of the ultimate sacrifice made by members of our Armed Forces and following the example of Alexander the Great after the Battle of Granicus in 334BC, the immediate next-of-kin of Service personnel killed in action or who die of wounds should be exempt from paying income and council taxes for the remainder of their lives.
