Rejected petition Make fathers with assets or self employed income pay for their children

In numerous cases absent fathers have multiple houses and cars yet submit a nil tax return to avoid paying child support in addition fathers deliberately go self employed to free themselves of this burden leaving children in poverty

More details

In a case known to me the mother was offered £8.00 per week child support from the CMS when the father on an E1 form in court owned 3 houses, 5 cars and 2 nightclubs however produced a nil rate tax return leaving the child's mother visiting food banks
The current system is leaving children in poverty as £8.00 does not even cover dinner money is this really fair it takes 2 to bring a child into the world.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you're concerned about the rates of child maintenance paid by people who have substantial assets or who are self-employed, but we're not sure exactly what changes you'd like the Government to make.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
