Rejected petition Returning Islamic Jihadists to be tried by a war crimes commission.

Rejected on

Islamic Jihadists returning to the UK are not being adequately investigated and tried for war crimes.

Allowing Islamic Jihadists war criminals into the UK, without proper investigation is putting the country at risk.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

It is already a criminal offence under the Terrorism Act 2000 to belong, or profess to belong, to a proscribed organisation like Daesh in the UK or overseas. We're therefore not sure what further action you want the Government and Parliament to take.

Trials for war crimes are the responsibility of the International Criminal Court (ICC). You can find out more about the ICC here:

https://www.icc-cpi.int/

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. If you want the UK Government to ban ISIS fighters from returning to the UK, you may wish to sign this petition instead: https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/204079

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
