With the roll out of Smart Grid and the Governments' Broadband Britain Project, I petition the Government to have an open debate in the house regarding the methods of delivery and the potential for `joined up thinking'. At the moment it seems that commercial pressures are outweighing the golden opportunity to renew the backbone of the UK's communications infrastructure.
