Rejected petition That when a cat is hit by a vehicle it's to be reported to the police.

The majority of animals hit on UK roads have to be reported to the police, but this does not include cats. Cats are very much an important pet to a family as are dogs, they should have the same rights as dogs so the family can have closure when they lose a pet to a traffic accident.
