Schools should not be allowed to confiscate items such as mobile phones. Mobile Phone are necessary to a child's learning, it lets the student to enhance the internet, release stress, contacts friends for social support and let's parents and carers now where their child is and if they are ok.

Yes, Phones can be a distraction meaning students must not use them in class but a teacher must not confiscate them. What are students suppose to do if they are in trouble walking home? What if they need to go to a friend's due to an emergency? What if the parent needs to contact the child but does not know where they are and who to ring?
