Closed Full-scale independent inquiry into mismanagement of all UK rail transport.

From potentially illegal treatment of passengers by train companies during the recent "Beast from the East" cold snap, through failing franchises and unjustifiable price increases, to the most recent abortive failure of the 26-30 Railcard; British railway transport is at an unacceptable nadir. Why?

Why were passengers not evacuated for 15 hours? Or provided with food, water, or blankets for 15 hours?
