Petition Make financial management a compulsory part of education in schools
The national level of personal debt in this country is on the rise. It will only get worse unless something is done now.
Proper financial management has to be taught in schools from a young age to prepare children for the future.
This could be included in maths or done as a separate subject.

I work in local government, dealing with insolvency and large debts on a daily basis. I've seen so many cases where people clearly don't know how to manage their finances and need solid advice on how to budget.
National statistics for Individual Voluntary Arrangements (IVAs) show that they are steadily on the rise since their introduction. However, I've seen several terminted because people can't make enough sacrifices and stick to arrangements. This then leads to harsher financial penalties.
