We, the undersigned, believe that in order for the majority of the people to fully participate in the governance of the country, our laws should be written in a language that the people can readily understand.

We further believe that the current practice of drafting and presenting laws in Legal English and “Legalese” is detrimental to a truly representative Parliament and the involvement of the people in the government of the country.

We therefore demand that all future laws made in the UK Parliament should be written in Plain English.
