Rejected petition Reduce 'Healthy' product prices instead of raise prices for 'Unhealthy' products
Instead of increasing the prices of more 'Unhealthy' products, reducing the prices of 'Healthy' products will be more beneficial as seeing lower prices for food will help those wanting to lose weight actually afford it, Raising the price of 'Unhealthy' products i.e cocacola, chocolate, what's next?
More details
If the government really want to reduce underage obesity whilst also help poor families, reducing the prices for healthier products will in fact encourage more people to buy those products; raising the prices for products that are 'Unhealthy' only makes it more difficult for people to treat themselves. Parents have taken to social media on the difficulty, some meals consist of tinned beans and chicken nuggets it's definitely not democratic to force our lifestyle to this "Ideal citizen" image.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The Government can't make manufacturers and retailers lower their prices.
If you're concerned about tax changes that cause some foods and drinks to be more expensive, you could start a new petition asking the Government to change those taxes.
