Rejected petition Put forward a vote of no confidence in Hastings and Rye of our elected MP

Our faith in our elected MP for Hastings & Rye has diminished since her failure to speak the truth in the cabinet.
We would therefore appreciate an election for a new, honest MP for our constituency.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We can't accept this petition because it asks for something that neither the House of Commons nor the Government can do. The expression "vote of no confidence" is used when talking about a vote in the House of Commons which tests whether or not the Government of the day has the confidence of a majority of MPs in the House of Commons.

The concept of the House having “confidence” in someone does not apply to select committees or individual MPs.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
