Rejected petition Fines and jail time for those who attack our emergency services

A couple of teenagers faked a hear attack call and got the ambulance crew out and hurled bricks and heavy objects at the emergency crew both wasting time and importantly putting the crew and other actual patients at risk. These were children who did this, so I propose the parents to pay the fine

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Parliament is already considering changing the law on this issue, so we're not sure exactly what further action you'd like to see.

The Government supports the Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Bill. The Bill plans to introduce a new offence of attacking an emergency worker while they are doing their job and increase the maximum sentence.

You can find out more about the Bill here:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
