As part of our GCSE citizenship course, we are setting up a campaign raising awareness of unemployment in Lewisham. We found out that Unemployment among 16-25 year olds, are the worst age-group affected by the slowdown in labour market, rose to 991,000 in the three months to august.
We also found out that the youth unemployment in the count is 21.3% with Lewisham having 36% of youth 16-24 are unemployed.
We want the government to try and provide jobs for those that want them.
