Rejected petition Overturn the draconian prison sentence handed to British citizen Jonathan Nash.
Jonathan Nash has been sentenced to 37 years in a Qatari prison. His crime? Nothing more than a bounced cheque. In line with Qatar’s judiciary system (or lack of), he has not been given any opportunity to defend himself. No day in court and no opportunity to give his version of events.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government or Parliament cannot overturn a prison sentence passed by another country's courts.
You could start a new petitions asking the UK Government to raise the case with the Qatari Government if that is something you would like to see happen.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
