Petition Introduce free flu jabs for people using Lithium Carbonate for Bipolar disorder

Lithium Carbonate is considered to be the gold standard for controlling the symptoms of bipolar disorder, however, the symptoms of flu including diarrhoea, vomiting, dehydration and fever are exactly those which can cause Lithium toxicity which can quickly become fatal.

By providing flu vaccinations, the government will be taking a pre-emptive step, reducing the risk of lithium toxicity while, at the same time, reducing the number of hospital beds taken up and allowing treatment of flu victims who require it.
