Closed petition Increase awareness of asthma in under 5 year olds.

The Government must raise awareness among GPs and healthcare professionals to increase the diagnosis of asthma in children under 5. When a child with asthma isn’t diagnosed until they are 5 it is especially hard. I understand it can indicate other conditions but it is a condition that can kill!

Recently I was nearly at the point of having to resuscitate my child, I had inhalers to ease until paramedics arrived but imagine if I didn’t have that “we can’t do anything with children under 5”. Thankfully at the age of 6 months I managed to push and push the doctors for a steroid inhaler alongside his blue inhaler but it took my son to have an asthma attack at 6 months old and a trip to A&E for them to realise.
