Lorries overtaking on dual carriageways takes a considerable amount of time and holds up all traffic behind them. This causes delays and considerable frustration to other road users, and dangerous driving results from impatient car drivers.

The speed limit for lorries on a dual carriageways is 60mph. Cars and other vehicles are limited to 70mph. Considering the numbers of cars to other vehicles on the road, it is illogical to allow limited vehicles to block both carriageways for considerable lengths of time causing delays for many other road users.
