Rejected petition Ban all pavement advertising signs.
74 year old male with a disabled wife.
More details
Pavements are getting cluttered up all over the country with advertising "A" boards/signs which are a great nuisance to people having to avoid them. They cause congestion on busy pavements, they cause a problem for disabled people, they are a danger to blind people, in general they are not really needed.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Local authorities are responsible for ensuring the public can use roads and pavements. They already have the power to ban "A" boards from pavements under the Highways Act 1980.
You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can use this page to find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
