Rejected petition Parental Responsibility!

More details

While the law does not define in detail what parental responsibility is, the following list sets out the key roles:
•providing a home for the child
•having contact with and living with the child
•protecting and maintaining the child
•disciplining the child
•choosing and providing for the child's education
•determining the religion of the child
•agreeing to the child's medical treatment
If a parent has chosen not to undertake this responsibility for more then two years and a step-parent steps in, they should be able to apply to the courts to adopt that child, without the absent parents permission. This would save the CSA time and money chasing after parents, who do not want to see or provide for their children! Parents who do take their responsibilities seriously, and are being pushed out of their childrens lives by an ex-partner should also be given better access rights. All children have a right to be part of a family!
