Rejected petition Abolish the tv licence

In this day and age what company can receive £5 billion pounds and have to do nothing to earn it. I acknowledge that the BBC is an institution but no one wants to live in one.
I cannot think of one company who has free access to funding without a plan to raise funding.

There should be a transition period to enable the BBC to enable itself to raise funds as do all other tv channels to create income.
This is the case of all corporate company's and the BBC should stand or fall on its own feet.
