School league tables prioritise limited targets they are a clumsy statistical tool at the root of a disintegrating education system. Disempowering teachers, and learners, compromising head teachers while hijacking and suffocating the joy of learning at the cruel expense of the learners education.

On line response to a Question time clip has made it clear that there is a need for radical reform of Assessment methods to prioritise effective learner engagement. There needs to be a greater range of assessment methods that enable and guide the learner and recognise the many different purposes and evidences of learning while respecting the teachers skills and expertise.This will provide many different outcomes, that will not fit into a one size fits all school league table.
